Tonights the night!!

Well im a fingertip dialated, 75% effaced and baby is low...woo-hoo!!!

The doctor was very happy with that along with the fact that im contracting. The hospital will call me sometime tonight to tell me when to come in. When i get there they will give me Cervidil and monitor me overnight and check me in the morning. Depending on the progress overnight ill either get my water broken or start pit or both.

Im very anxious right now and i just want to be there and get this process started!

Im planning on posting pics and my birth story on here after i have him...we are bringing the laptop to the hosp.

last growth scan

i def got a peanut on my hands!

his guesstamated weight is 5lbs 9 ozs., his femurs are still 4 weeks behind (which actually relieved me since i was worried they were going to be even further behind). He is measuring 35w2d (im 36.4) last u/s he was 3-4 days behind now he's 9 days. I dont know if this considers him IUGR or not. I also dont know if the doctor will call me tomorrow to go over this or if we'll talk about it on tuesday.

Im not too concerned with all this since i was 4-6 at birth, my sister was 6-4, my mom was 6-0 and my gram was 6-8..my dh was only 7-0 also. So we have small babies. Im just concerned since he consisntently keeps lagging more and more behind in growth with each u/s.

either way, we'll see what his real weight is in a week!

36.3 appt update - GRR!

I HATE it when doctors change their minds!!! So now it looks like next wednesday is the day instead of this friday, i know its only a couple days but UG, i was SO CLOSE! I just want this baby out - im so scared something is going to go wrong with him.


So i get that news, and the doctor tries to talk me into waiting the 26th and i think my exact words were "are you kidding me?!" He's the one whose been telling me all along we need to get him out as soon as term hits and now hes changing his mind?! I told him "Nope, were doing wednesday and thats final!"


And i lost 3 pounds IN A WEEK! I have never lost 3 pounds in a week, even with diet and exercise and here i am 9 months pregnant and i cant gain weight for the life of me ( i havent gained anything in 2 1/2 mo....just lost)! He said he didnt care unless i was measuring small...guess what? IM MEASURING SMALL....oh do the worries end (i know they dont!)? So now i have a growth u/s tomorrow night to see whats happening in there. If it seems like Jack has IUGR(restricted growth) then the induction may be moved up. thank goodness i get biweekly nst/bpp's cause i think id lose it!

Well ive been thinking 9/19 all along but today the doctor said:

"when you come in next week, we'll set up the induction for the end of the week!" So it looks like 9/14. I'll be 36.6wks so he should be just fine but there is a small chance that he may need some NICU time. But i can handle him being in NICU for a few days, but i cant handle losing him.

My appt was good. Still havent gained any weight since the stupid diabetes diagnosis so im still at about 15 pounds (according to the docs scale, 13 according to mine). Jacks HR was perfect, my BP was perfect, i had some protein in my urine but he didnt seem to care since everything else was fine. The GBS culture was done (no biggie) and im not dialted yet...drats!

I go back next tuesday and will hopefully have the finalized plans for the induction! YAY!!

33.5 wk appt and BPP/NST

Overall everything is good.

BP 120/60, weight is -1.2 pounds...so my total is now 15 pounds overall...i keep losing weight now that im on this GDM diet! Urine is fine, measuring on target, Jacks heartrate was 160.
He said "your growth u/s was right on target" i was like "WHAT?!, his femurs are measuring 4 weeks BEHIND!"...and he said "well, your short arent you?"...lol. So he looked it up in his little book and Jack is in the 3rd percentile for his legs (they want it in btw 10-90%) and 10% is 6.0 and Jack is 5.7 so the doctor said we are talking not even a half an inch! So that made me feel better, then he said that since the head and belly are measuring a few days ahead thats even better. He said he'd be more concerned if Jack was measuring 4 weeks behing overall. I guess the only real indicator for short femurs is Downs but we know Jack is healthy b/c we did PGD. So the doc told me not to worry about it...so i "wont" :).

The we talked about induction. He is going to start doing internals at my next appt along with the GBS. If im not dialated by 37wks, he said he can still try to induce but if im rock hard i can opt to do a c/s. I know this is very controversial but i know all you ladies understand that with everything i went through to get here once im term, im done with the worry and just want the baby OUT, no matter how it happens. Im terrified that i made it this far and have something happen, so im all about the elective c/s if it comes to that.

After my appt. i went in for a NST and BPP and lil man was ALL over the place...passed with no problems..the nurse also checked his head placement and said "wow, this kid is LOW!" :)

So 3 1/2 more weeks or so...WOW!!

Growth u/s

Lil man is living up to his name! He's measuring 32.6wks (im 33.3) and weighting in at 4 1/2 pounds which is the 27th percentile which is all good. But his little legs are meauring 4 weeks behind (they were 2 wks behind before) so im trying not to stress about it, hoping its just genetics. I go thursday to talk to the doctor.

Sometimes being under the microscope causes more worries then needed!

31 wk appt

Things are still good :)

BP was 136/70, i measured 32wks, Jacks heartbeat was good. He noticed my swollen feet but didnt seem concerned at all. I lost a half pound (and that was with wet hair!) So the total so far is 16 pounds.

He looked over my sugars and said they were perfectly fine and only wants me to check them 2 days a week now... woo-hoo!! :) :)

He said i should start my BPP and NST's next week. That will be 2x a week. I go back 8/22 for a growth u/s and 8/23 to see him. Im hoping all these appts make the time go by faster.

Appt and u/s

Jack is measuring at 29.0wks, which is very good :) His little legs measure 2 wks behind but the doctor isnt concerned since he has been measuring that way all along and both pete and I are not exactly giants :)

My BP and weight were good. Jack HR was 140-150. Im going in every 2 weeks now for appts, so next appt is 8/6 (our anniversary)! And we talked about the BIG day. He wants Jack out in the 37th week so it looks like it'll be between 9/14 and 9/19. It all depends on when my cervix starts to dialate. I also start BPPs (more intensive u/s's) at 32 weeks. So things are moving along!

OH NO! My poor veins!

I was talking to pete last night saing "i havent heard from the doctor, i must have passed my glucose test...YAY!!" Well would you know i get this message on my cell this morning:

"Hi Torri, its Dr. B, im calling to let you know you FAILED your one hour glucose test by 8 points. Im sending you instructions for the 3 hour GTT."

I think the look on my face was priceless since pete was cracking up! Nice, huh?

Also im anemic so now i have to take 2 iron pills a day.

Oh well...

25wk appt and glucose test

Appt went well :) M BP was 118/66 (its been that the whole time lol!). My belly measured perfectly, Jacks heartrate was 150 and i gained 4 pounds (15 pounds total now). I go back July 23rd for an appt and a growth u/s. Then after that he'll start seeing us every 2 weeks!

Then i went over to the lab to do the glucose test. Ive heard nightmares about this...but it wasnt bad AT ALL! I heard you had to drink this huge glass of nasty sugary stuff but it was only like a half cup of something that tasted like ginger ale! I hope i pass...i will not be happy if i have to do the 3 hour glucose test. Not b/c of the time it will take but b/c i have the shittests veins EVER and getting 3 draws that close together will NOT be fun (or easy!).

24 week u/s :)

YAAAAY!!! :)
Jack is measuring right on for dates (he was 2 days behind at our 18wk u/s, so im glad he's measuring exact!, even though 2 days is nothing...but i was worried he was going to keep lagging behind...) And he weights 1 1/2 pounds which is PERFECT!

He is head down with his hands above his head so the pokes ive been getting down really low are his hands and elbows! lol He gave a few good jabs at the wand thingy and that felt very strange! It was so cool to see his features more pronounced. We even got to see him yawn! So cute!! I was so psyched to see all this b/c at our 18wk u/s the lady didnt show us ANYTHING! So i finally got to see his belly/bladder/heart and his penis! lol

AND for the best news of the day....
The SCH is GONE!!!!!! No sign of blood ANYWHERE! And my cervix is 3.4 and very thick, so things look GREAT! :)

21 week appt :)

We're still trucking along, thank god! :)

My BP was good at 118/66...Jack heartbeat was 147...my fundus was meausring perfectly, i gained 10 pounds total so far. All my questions were answered and everything i was concerned about is fine. I just need to call if i have more than 4 braxton hicks in one hour. And he took me out of work for the rest of the pregnancy. So no more work until janurary!

I go back june 20th for a growth u/s and june 26th for an appt.

Surprising Cycle Review

Surprising b/c since i developed OHSS i was expecting to hear "you need to wait 3 months to start again." But instead i heard:

"Lets start the Lupron early next week and do the ER mid januray!"

I was shocked!!!

So heres the breakdown on what we're doing next cycle:

* Start with 200u of Follistim, instead if 225u to try to prevent OHSS
* Start Heparin day 4 of stims (she thinks i have a clotting d/o thats not found yet and since im @ increased risk of OHSS - which can lead to thrombolis...so we're starting it sooner.)
* She believes the OHSS was a factor why i did not become pregnant, but cant say for sure
* My 2 healthy boys did extremely well after going through the PGD so shes hopeful.
* She said that my ratio for normal vs. abnormal shows we should have healthy ones the next time around.
*PIO (progesterone in oil, an IM shot) instead of the supps.
*She said I WILL get pregnant, its just a matter of WHEN.

Overall, im extremely happy with the outcome. I have a fantastic doctor (i love her) and we found the reason for the m/c's. She is very proactive to achive a healthy pregnany (whereas my last RE i felt like i was fighting for him to help me.)

I cant wait to start the Lupron and get this next cycle underway!!!!

Also, mentally im doing ALOT better. Im feeling ALOT of hope with the next cycle and im trying to hold onto that. When i start to feel OK about things i automatically think negatively to protect myself. But who am i thinking? Im going to be upset if it doesnt work this next time if i protect myself or not! So im trying to remain as positive as possible!!

So here we go again!!! YAY!

May have found the reason!!!!

I am in total AWE!!! Last month when i went to the RE i asked to get a mycoplasma culture done. Its a bacteria that can cause early m/c and guess what??? I HAVE IT!!! Im SO MAD no one thought of this and it was ME who suggested it.

Being a nurse i know you HAVE TO be you OWN advocate. Research, research - it WILL get you places.

So the plan is to take 10 days of antibiotics get tested 10 days later and if its still postive, i go back on the antibiotics along with pete ( i dont understand why he doesnt go on them now?) We are still going through with the IVF b/c we are not 100% sure this is the reason. And thats starting in about a week.

I cant believe this!

A CraZy amount of Appointments!

Yesterday i had an appt with Dr. F for a microplasma culture ( a simple bacteria that may be causing the m/c's). While there i told him we changed our minds and we are diving in -head first- for the IVF/PGD.

While he's fiddling instruments around in my "good girl" he proceeds to tell me that he's going to do a "mock embryo transfer" - HOLY SHIT this is REALLY happening! Right then and there is when i had the realization that i AM going through this, i cant carry a baby and i need IVF and that may not work, too! ARGH!

But let me tell ya, Dr. F got some talent, hes talking to me and looking me IN THE EYE as he's threading a catheder through my CERVIX! - dont you have to SEE where you going? I guess he knows va-jay-jays like the back of his hands!!

His nurse gives me a booklet on IVF (which, btw. is about 150 pages long!). There is about 7 steps i need to do in order to start the IVF. The biggest one is the b/w..it has to be done on Day 3 of my cycle - its about 15 tubes of blood - my FAVORTIE :\

10/10- DR.F to talk about the protocol
10/18- Dr. KP to talk about the PGD
and i still have a few more i need to make - ill add them as they come along!

Going to Melissa and Warrens wedding this weekend! It should be fun - i need fun!
